Our Projects.

Douwein Development Foundation is community-led in every sense. We have created programs built around the community, not a community built around our programs. We do not exist to impose programs the community doesn’t want or need, we exist to support them through programs driven by research, data, and compassion. We have developed a unique model that is based on the fundamental premise that when individuals earn opportunity for growth they are fundamentally more committed to their own success.

Project 1. Road Construction

(They Waited for Years for a Road, Now these Determined Villagers Are Building One Themselves)

The objective of this Project is to build the road leading to the villages.

Building a road through these villages has been a long-time demand of the villagers but the village is surrounded by dense forests, mountains and rivers and the villagers had no proper tools to build the road.

It is easily understandable what happens when there is no proper road in a village. It is not only that communications with the nearby villages and towns get hampered, the villagers also cannot have their basic rights ensured. Education of children becomes very difficult as schools are usually situated miles away and getting healthcare at or nearby hospitals during emergency situations also becomes a challenge.

The villagers have approached the government many times to construct a road but nothing has come of it, as a result, the villagers have decided to take matters into their own hands. The road is been built using local materials.

Project 2. Preparing The Land To Build The Mission

We are currently clearing 10 acres of land to build a boarding campus that will comprise of boys and girls dormitories

The village and surrounding villages, which has a population of about 1000 people and 100 households, has no basic amenities like clinics/hospitals or schools.

Our ultimate goal is to empower the underprivileged children in Duowein and surrounding villages with educational opportunities to graduate from primary and secondary schools and to ensure them the possibility of higher education in order to provides’ successful lives as young and productive adults.

Project 3. Women & Children Health

The objective of this Project is to Provide medical and health support especially for the women and children through education and the acquiring of supplies for the local villages.

We believe where you live shouldn’t dictate whether you live or die.

In the first phase of our 5-year plan, we plan to build an innovative health clinic that will provide:

  • Transport systems, so women can reach facilities in time to save their lives

  • Reproductive and maternal health services

  • Nutritional support and education

  • Routine healthcare to children

Healthy mothers means healthier babies/children…healthier communities mean a healthier nation.
